look ma, 2 hands!
id managed to repot the years' old snake plant with my 2 bare hands! and that's easily the work of 2 people. ma's going to be proud of me. ALTHOUGH, repotting it indoors, not that good an idea. now, soggy potting soil all over the place. and there's no one else to clean it up but me. uhoh. BUT huge mess aside, i must say it was yet another succesful transplantation. now, if only i could find more space for such a springtime plant addiction.
aside from all that gardening, been pretty much an independence-themed weekend. did my own grocery (did pretty well in getting all the yogurt, brown eggs and wheat bread but i just couldnt resist the sale on the ice cream, oh well). brought all the recyclables to the center (and earned 1.25 for walking all those bottles). took out the garbage (complete with sorting out which goes into which bin). did my laundry (well, the lights at least), did more gardening (can't wait til i can harvest the jalapeno and basil), cooked/baked myself some nice meals (complete with fresh-picked rosemary, oregano, sage and parsley from the balcony), did some shopping for the kitchen (if buying a bottle-saver for the vinegar counts, that is), AND scored some great bargains in a school-sponsored rummage sale i chanced upon (2 authentic burberry suits with pants included AND a nice DKNY shirt for a grand bargain total of 22 dollars!)
still a long way to go though. still have to finish the laundry, vacuum the soily mess, organize the whole apartment, pay some bills and clean up the bathroom (AYAY-YAY, the joys of independence). but no worries, we will prevail. i just hope this look-ma-im-being-a-good-independent-son mother's day feeling lasts through til all the cleaning up's over.

happy mother's day, ma! wish you were here to see how wonderful the pansies have grown. not quite your favorite tulips but pretty proud with how they've managed to flower non-stop so far. see you soon. oh and be sure to eat your vegetables! they're good for you (especially without the bagoong)!
