office halloween party
we had our office halloween costume party/happy hour last friday. was a nice little break from the quite busy week. best costume (and 100 bucks) went to jonathan dressed up as a jew-mo wrestler. rick peets as andy warhol got second. and danielle as a sea princess got third place (how she won i don't know, must be coz she's HR head and judges were hoping for maybe a few free days off). but anyway, free food and booze and free good laughs here and there is always good so im not complaining. was planning on coming as a starbucks barista but that starbucks manager uptown won't sell me an apron coz i guess she knew i was going to have it as my halloween getup (inspite of my attempts of saying it's going to be a present for a friend).
aside from the nice little party, things are going quite well in the office. was a good week. presented the tv commercial concepts midweek. of the 6 the clients picked, 4 are mine and my copywriter partner's. screened some directors' reels as well all week for an upcoming documentary/video we're making before the year ends. there's a chance that i'll be able to work with an academy award-winning documentarian. either that or a european director. not bad for a first major major US video project (and for a first real venture into getting a "real" documentary done).
will be heading down to the client in pennsylvania tomorrow morning to re-present the storyboards to the higher higher-ups. they'll probably trim them down to the 3-4 concepts which will then be sent into testing (the not-so-fun and glamorous part of tv commercial making). should be a good trip to the client's tomorrow. a nice learning experience/exposure for me who'll be the only "youngie" there with VPs who are perhaps 15ish years my senior.
fart, im growing "old" too quickly. gotta be sure i come to the meeting with my lollipop.
