dabble dabble dabble

was one of those scattered good to be all over the place days yesterday. found myself jumping from one place to another, one activity to another, one thought to another. no, i do not have ADHD. hmmm, what is ADHD, anyway? lemme, check.

i digress. back to my day yesterday.

fun factory (aka "work" on bad days)—turns out folks at the agency have this notion that i'm overworked (which im not really) so they've sort of put this temporary force field around me blocking off any thing to work on. and so, i had most the day all to myself. sitting like a bag of potatoes, mostly surfing the net, jumping from one site to another. (hidden joke there) lots of gems out in cyberspace, actually. there's this good article on commarts on the importance of digression. click and you shall see where i stole today's writing style.

another quite fruitful sitestop was being able to come up with this absolutely wonderful movie trailer which i had sent to good friend il cone as sort of tease to the party hearty in holland next week. you have got to see this (as long as you're older than 21 and 5 days).

art director's club—i had quickly left the office and rushed to see this exhibit they had which showcases all the winners from all over the world covering all media: advertising, graphic design, photography, illustration, interactive and hybrid. was wonderful seeing all the foreign works (coz american work obviously stinks in comparison to what's out there). personal fave was this french ad. this is the bastardized version of the subtitles as my wee brain recalls it: "people in japan eat little fat and they have fewer heart attack cases than america. the french eat lots of fat and they have fewer heart attack cases than america. the people in {country i forget] drink little wine and they have fewer heart attack cases than america. people in spain drink lots of wine and have fewer heart attack cases than america. people in [country i forget] have lots of sex and people in [country i again have forget] have little sex but both have fewer cases of heart attack... speaking english makes you get heart attack. learn french. [french school logo]."

integral yoga institute—went to the yoga institute after the trip to the exhibit. been wanting to get into yoga and so i decided finally that there's no other way to do it but by just doing it. so i went there but not do actual yoga yet but to inquire more about the classes they have, especially for a beginner like me. i tell you, whatever they do must be working coz the receptionist i was speaking with is probably one of the calmest people i've ever met in new york and in the whole world for that matter. she was just so zen. youd almost think she was under tranquilizers. anyway, got a list of their classes and a brochure on yoga practice. ill be sure to take some classes once back from holland. as im sure i will need to detox from that trip.

nyu sports center—was able to swim a few laps. and get much needed physical activity after those hours of comfortable sitting like a bag of potatoes in the office chair. and much needed relaxation after that rushing uptown to downtown in the midst of the slowest walkers in the world. was wonderfully pleased after the exercise coz it somehow felt that my white shirt looked good on me. unless that's only because it's still newly white white and has totally nothing to do with me. which probably is the case anyway.

home messy home—got home greeted by piles of folded clothes ive yet to store and dishes ive yet to wash. tipped over a wine glass and had to clean up the broken glass mess by myself. now im all paranoid i might have missed some ittybitty thing that will get stuck in my foot and make it bleed profusely like hell and send me walking to the hospital with a bleeding foot coz im too cheap to hail a cab. gave the plants a good exaggerated watering coz ill be out the whole weekend. checked my blog after and realized that doug has commented on my "won it" post. check it out. after the trips here and there. the dabbling here and there, i fell soundly asleep at the thought of having had one of those pretty good all over the place days.

will be heading to delaware in a few hours to watch my nephew perform (and for a self-imposed calm before the holland party hearty storm next week). but then again, i digress.
