argh matey

was on another boat party with officemates last night. this time it was no cruise for the whole agency but instead a free pirates and ham themed party on a boat called the frying pan, which was decked on pier 63 on the hudson river. not as much boozing on my part though coz i had brought the bike (but left the lights) and was already dealing with an upset tummy.

nevertheless, it was a fun time. it was quite an interesting boat. the lowest deck was all set up for music and partying and there was quite a good turnout from the office. well, of course it helped that 2 colleagues were playing at the event. they wrote some hilarious songs just for the ham-stravaganza pirate theme. covered all sorts of genre. my favorite of course was when they closed with their rap song, pirates what?.lots of fun. of course, the biggest joy coming from the comfort of knowing that the people you work with actually have talent and lives outside of the office. and by some unwritten law of transitivity, the assumption that somehow you do too. ok that maybe a stretch. but anyway, it was a fun tuesday night party. there's another one tomorrow—a colleague's He's Getting Married Let's Get Him Wasted Party. we'll see how it goes. one thing's for sure though. this pirate ain't bringing no bike tomorrow. argggghh.
