bloody titanium

look right. see that broken tooth with the cut off screw still lodged in? well ignore it for a sec. will give you the story later. first, the good news coz everyone always picks the good news over the not as good news.

of late, ive been spending a lot of time at work on post-production for a spot that will be aired in toronto in a few weeks. been shuttling back and forth to the editing house to work with the editor and producer. feels good being able to direct people on which clips to use and cuts to make. and of course, it helps being able to just sit on the couch and get served the occasional free lunch and coffee. was in the recording studio wednesday as well for the voiceover. interesting experience getting to see another part of the process. good job on the breakfast spread and freebies too. feels good being able to see a project through from concept to completion. nice little learning experience.

now, you can look right again. well, that's the post-extraction post-drilling xray—my pimped up jaw with a spanking new titanium screw lodged in. of course i got to the dental chair all relaxed and the doc was, "you look all relaxed for someone who's going to undergo your procedure." way to burst my zen bubble doc. well, the procedure wasnt really that bad. i was numbed down enough to feel anything and the sight of blood spewing out of my mouth wasnt that horrifying. only 2 painful things about the whole ordeal were 1. i had to sign some document that i woudn't be drinking any alcohol (which i have not broken, promise. i really really do. really.) and 2. the bloody bill i had to pay for the whole procedure especially that my insurance wont cover any of it. bloody titanium powerbook lodged in my jaw and i cant even send emails with it and wont even give me the fun of beeping in airport security. sheesh.

all is good in varying levels of goodness in this corner of the world. or maybe its just my painkillers numbing out all the negative.
