i heart travel
an overturned chinatown bus leaving 30+ injured was featured in the evening news tonight. good thing no one was severely injured. and good thing the accident didnt happen to the chinatown bus i rode yesterday, especially that i was seated right next to the driver making me the number one candidate to be shooting out the windshield if some freakish accident had happened. which wasnt that impossible considering the driver was on the phone the whole time and apparently hoping to beat the world record for fastest chinatown bus to have crossed the new jersey turnpike. accompanying risks and all, i must admit i still heart travel.
the labor day weekend was spent in delaware with family. aside from all the food glorious food and the tennis and jogging to counterbalance all the feasting, one of the highlights was a trip to a nearby farmers' market. if in new york, the union square market would be logically frequented by the health-conscious, apparently out there in delaware, it was quite the opposite. a bit of a shock obviously seeing all those shoppers who could barely even walk to their cars. stuffing their carts with loads of meat and produce and of course the sweets. huffing around in their white tennis shoes and 80s jeans. was though i was in the middle of a supersize me scene. welcome to america!
i actually get to see more of the US of A in the next few weeks. have several business trips lined up and ill be able to hit chicago, michigan, baltimore & DC. sweet! also possibly a weekend holiday in dallas with my mom and sister. BUT the biggest upcoming trip of all. the adcenter execs ilcone + jointman hit hongkong & manila in november. all the flights have been booked but specific details are still under wraps. suffice it to say, its going to be one fundamtastic holiday. tricky part though is how i tell the office ill be taking the 3 weeks off considering i just came from a eurotrip. oh well!

no worries with getting the days off though coz its a quite chill office, really. for if even the executive creative director buys everyone a round of drinks to kick off a thursday night of pissing, what's 3 weeks to ask? of course, that was quite a going-away party last thursday. people were all over the place. funny pictures all over. and nothing like pints of guiness on an empty stomach.
one officemate was quite hammered, so brockie and i were somehow the designated make-sure-she-gets-home-safe sober samaritans. not sure about the sober part though coz something about all of a sudden craving for a mcdonald's sundae in the middle of the night didnt seem quite right. bullsh*t aside, everyone got home safe and there were no reported calling in sick the next day.
