4 triple loads less & 1 big trip more

ok, so doing laundry isnt one of my strongest skills. and washing the dishes a close second to the last. but impossible as it may seem, my laundry's all cleaned up as of saturday. all nice and fresh and folded. well at least, the lights, that is. the darks are here somewhere scattered all over the place. that said, it came as a big pleasant surprise that the friendly neighborhood laundromat man even knew me.

there's obviously an apparent invisible forcefield on things that have to be done. well at least by choice somehow. which perhaps explains why friday was an ultimate riot in the office as we we're fooling around coz some of the bosses were not around. peak season for birthday card making, so we were up to our crazy antics. even getting mabel the office dog in it, dressed up in one of the creative director's tattered sweater. needless to say, jobs were put on hold for at least an hour. chill.

the weekend was supposed to be all work and no play for me coz aside from the piles of laundry and dishes, i had a side design project i had to finish. yeah right, as if that was going to happen. instead the weekend turned into more like a li'l work and more play one. spent time chilling in washington square park where everyone seemed to have the same idea, enjoying the last few days of great t-shirt summer weather. getting the necessary recharging of batteries. which apparently worked coz that job i was supposed to finish, is actually done now and in the printer's hands where it's supposed to be.

thankfully though, that originally pro bono design job just might end up earning me some cash. which is a great bonus obviously coz over the weekend i had booked a little side vacation to bohol for the november trip to manila. which is not that good an idea maybe coz now my mind all the more bacame no longer here. its now further off snorkeling, seeing the tarsiers, basking in the chocolate hills and white sand. taking a break from all the things that have to be done. neglecting all the world's useless worries and anxieties. ok, not really. but we're getting there. getting there.

yesterday was filled with reminders of that tragic day 5 years ago. the chilling reading of names in the morning. the memorable image of flowers outside that fire station on 13th street. the moving documentary of the children who lost parents that day. the towering lights from ground zero. as i was on the roofdeck, reflecting a bit and gazing at those lights that reached the heavens, somehow id realized how much ive come to learn to love this city. and how its been a great playground for living life and discovering what the world has to offer. up there, the lights that lit the whole sky were as clear as the things that really matter most. and apparently doing laundry and whining weren't part of them.
