saturday parties
it's finally done. all the months of preparation finally came into play last night with bandastiks '06—a concert/party i had helped organized and somehow ended up having the title of creative director with since i did most of the design work. it was very well attended (at least 600 were there). the bands played well. personal favorite was a saxophone solo by one of the ateneans now based in austrailia. the atmosphere was lively; people seemed to enjoy themselves. food was fine. drinks even better, especially that i had access to the scotch. it was an ok night. but eventhough the night could have been better with a few things here and there, the main goal of raising funds for several philippine charities was well met (seems like it).
before going to that party, i was in central park with colleagues for a german festival. they had a huge tent set up with german music, food and drinks all over the place. while the atmosphere was really fun (loved the german drinking songs and dancing), it was a bit of a shame that there werent enough beer stations set up so the lines were impossibly long. long enough that mr impatient with lines me opted for diet coke instead coz no one was there to buy that obviously. still lotsa fun though seeing everyone with pitchers of beers in their hands, and jumping like jolly beans on the dancefloor. chill.

weather was great here in the city over the weekend. was fun seeing the roller dancers in central park yesterday in between the two parties. and was great do a leisurely bike to the city as well today to rid myself of a bit of a hangover. am pretty much all set for another good week ahead. maybe. now that the concert planning is off my plate, i can focus a bit more on the 1 million office birthday cards i have to make and the november trip to the islands. bohol, check. and apparently now, banaue, sagada, batad, tagaytay, check, check, check. cant wait.
